Professional Life
Nyah Yda Sekel (Theater Director) is delighted to have made her debut with Atlanta Public Schools, Dekalb County Schools, and Walton County Board of Education. Recent credits include Musicals, Disney’s Cinderella, Christmas in Oz, 70’s Musical Revue and a host of one act plays.
She hosted a thirty minute Christian program on WATC TV 57. She has a degree in Theatre Education and has trained with Ms. Edna Barnes from Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns.
She is a member of a teacher union, Maryland State Theater Association, Writers Guild East and is a former Thespian Troupe Director.
Personal Life
After the play, I play. In my spare time, I travel to foreign countries and visit museums and tourist attractions. The furthest I’ve traveled so far has been China. I‘ve climbed Yellow Mountain in Hungshun . I’ve been to Mexico to visit my Grandkids. I have entered one of the great pyramids in Egypt, and I have stood beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris and smiled at the Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris. I love the Broadway District in NewYork. I’ve enjoyed several shows with a group of parents and students. The students were excited to spend those two days touring New York. A student once told me that I was a true Drama teacher!
